In the early 1960s, John and Sue Lovegrove began hosting teen camp at a rented sheep corral in the mountains of Howe, ID, which later became Palisades Bible Camp.
Camper registration quickly outpaced the rented facilities, so, in 1973, camp leadership moved Palisades Bible Camp northward near Blackfoot, ID and created Pioneer Bible Camp to serve Northern Utah.
In 1988, Steve Ransom (along with his wife, Rhonda) accepted the position of Camp Director and, two years later, moved PBC to its current location on 65 acres in the Ogden Valley. PBC has gone from rugged tent-camping to 7 fully plumbed and wired buildings, 14 cabins, 9 weeks of summer camp, plus other retreats, family camps, and rallies in the extended season.
PBC’s latest project has been the Caretaker’s House where Joe and Anna plan to live. The home will be completed, Lord willing, by the summer of 2016.
